Our beloved LEBO who passed away this year.
Lebo was an active member of our ministry for the last few years. She was a faithful Catholic, and joined us at weekly masses, and many events from our monthly meetings to the San Diego PRIDE parade.
She is surely enjoying heaven on an eternal cruise!

Fr. Henry Rodriguez (submitted by Wm. Christopher Mathews)
Fr. Henry started the LGBT ministry at SJE. The link below is to an NCR memorial to Fr. Henry, written by a priest friend. It describes how he was marginalized by the former bishop for marching in the Gay Pride parade and how Bishop McElroy brought him back and assigned him to our parish.

My grandma Margarita was the most special person to me, she was my favorite person in the world and was a mother to me. My grandma raised me, taught me to croquet, be tough, and was my foundation and largest motivator. My grandma was my biggest cheerleader and I got to experience my happiest moments with her. I loved sharing mangos, food, grocery shopping, Beach trips, and all the adventures. I loved our conversations and listening to her stories about her long life. My grandma's favorite flower was the Alcatraz (Calla Lily).
My grandma passed away Feb 2020, she was 96 years old, and a year later on Feb 2021, my miracle blessing daughter Analisa Luna was born. My grandma sent me Analisa so I would not feel lonely and be able to have a new favorite person and Analisa reminds me so much of my grandma.

Prayers for the Dead and those who Mourn
In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters. In this life you embraced them with your tender love; deliver them now from every evil and bid them eternal rest.
The old order has passed away: welcome them into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. R/. Amen.
|
Lord, My loved one is gone now from this earthly dwelling, and has left behind those who mourn their absence. Grant that we may hold their memory dear, never bitter for what we have lost nor in regret for the past, but always in hope of the eternal Kingdom where you will bring us together again. Through Christ our Lord. R/. Amen.
May the love of God and the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ bless and console us and gently wipe every tear from our eyes: in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. R/. Amen.
